Dillard University President Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough is the commencement speaker for this group of seniors.

 

Delaware State University’s keynote speaker for the this year’s Commencement Ceremony will be Dillard University President Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough

Kimbrough’s forward thinking and extensive background in education was the foundation for being the university’s choice this year.

Key points in his career include research and writings on HBCU’s and African American men in college. He has also been recognized by the Chronicles of Higher Education , CASE Currents, and Arkansas Life for his active use of social media. He was also listed among Ebony Magazine’s 2010 list of doers and influences in the African American community, which also included President Barack Obama, Tom Joyner, Tyler Perry and Richard Parsons.

He was named president of Dillard University in 2012

The graduation ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 in the Memorial Hall Gymnasium.
