The commander of the 436th Airlift Wing released non-mission essential personnel at 2 p.m. Jan. 21, and has issued reporting instructions for Jan. 22.

Due to the inclement weather, Col. Rick Moore, commander of the 436th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base issued a 2 p.m., Jan. 21 early release and instituted two-hour delayed reporting for Jan. 22 for specified personnel at the base. Beginning at 2 p.m., Moore authorized an early dismissal for Mission Essential Level 3 personnel, except those determined by commanders needed to support emergency, MEL 1, and MEL 2 operations. Emergency personnel remained at work as scheduled. Commanders have the authority to temporarily designate MEL 1 and 2 personnel as MEL 3 for this event, if not needed for current mission operations. Swing and mid-shift emergency and necessary MEL 1 and MEL 2 personnel should report as scheduled. MEL 3 personnel should not report. Commanders have the authority to temporarily designate MEL 1 and 2 personnel as MEL 3 for this event, if not needed for current mission operations. For Jan. 22, day shift emergency and MEL 1 and 2 personnel should report as scheduled. There is a two-hour delay from normal reporting time for MEL 3 personnel, unless otherwise determined by squadron commanders to perform mission essential duties. Commanders have the authority to temporarily designate MEL 1 and 2 personnel as MEL 3 for this event, if not needed for current mission operations. Personnel who are unsure of their status for reporting are to contact their supervisor or work area for further guidance. All personnel should remain alert to changing conditions and listen to the radio and television for up-to-date information.
