A Farmington man has been jailed on drug charges after a traffic stop near Harrington.

Harrington Police on April 1 arrested a Farmington man after they spotted what appeared to be drugs in his vehicle.

Police stopped Mace R. Rust II, 23, after Rust allegedly committed a traffic violation while on Route 13, said department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.

Officers reportedly noticed a small amount of marijuana on Rust's pants and on the vehicle floorboard, and also noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, Brode said.

Rust was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle turned up 85 grams of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.

Rust was charged with possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic violations, Brode said, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown in default of an $850 secured bond.
