Dover and Lake Forest opened the season on the diamond Thursday at Lake Forest High School. Dover Baseball defeated Lake Forest 3-1, while The Lady Spartans took down Dover 11-0.

Dover's Kyle Mace pitched a complete game one-hitter as the Senators defeated Lake Forest 3-1 to open up the Baseball season Thursday afternoon.

The Spartan's took a 1-0 lead into the top of the fourth, only to see the Senators tack on 2 runs and another in the 6th for the 3-1 victory.

Dover's Jon Carson led the way with two of the Senators 5 hits.

Lake Forest's Cory McGinness also pitched a complete game giving up 5 hits and striking out six.


Softball: Lake Forest 11 Dover 0

The Lady Spartan's exploded for a 10-run 4th inning powering them passed the Senators 11-0.

Morgan Hobbs, Jessica Rumley, Devonne Wills, Colby Wyatt, Gabrielle Cubbage and Katherine Betts combined to go 13-17, including 5 doubles and a two-run home run to left field by Gina Zuchelli.

The Spartan's Colby Wyatt improved to 1-0 giving up only 2 Senator hits.
