A flood watch remains in effect through Friday morning for Delaware, as well as portions of Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Rain will fall in the region early this morning and continue throughout Thursday, March 10. The heaviest rain is expected to fall this afternoon into tonight. Storm total rainfall amounts should average 1.5 to 3.5 inches with localized higher amounts possible.

The estimated rainfall amounts will cause flooding of low lying areas as well as cause smaller streams and creeks to rise out of their banks. The runoff also should cause flooding along main stem rivers.

Many rivers and streams remain at higher than normal levels and will not return to normal flow before this next rain storm.

A flood watch means there is a potential for additional flooding based on current forecasts.

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
