Delaware 13U travel baseball team to hold tryouts
    The Delaware Demolition 13U travel baseball team is holding tryouts from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at its indoor facility in Dover.
    All players interested must be able to pitch and must be 13 or younger as of May 1, 2009.

CR/Smyrna alumni match seeking wrestlers
    The fourth annual alumni wrestling match between Caesar Rodney and Smyrna high schools is set for 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Smyrna High School.
    The event, hosted by the Smyrna Little Wrestlers, is still looking for alumni participants to wrestle.
    Proceeds benefit local wrestlers with travel and entry fees for tournaments during the wrestling season.

Final fee due for youth floor hockey league
    The city of Dover Parks and Recreation department will conduct a youth floor hockey league for boys and girls Tuesday evenings beginning March 10 at the Pitts Center.
    Sticks, helmets and shin guards are provided for use during games in this no-contact league.
    Participants must wear a mouth guard, and the season will consist of one practice and six games.
    The activity fee is $25 per participant and must be paid no later than Wednesday, March 4.

Team Bricks MultiSport to host kickoff expo
    Team Bricks MultiSport is hosting a kickoff expo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Outlook Center at the Duncan Center, 500 W. Loockerman St., Dover.
    Participants will be treated to light hors d’oeuvres, get to mingle with current and future teammates, learn about Team Bricks, see vendors and team sponsors, and watch slide shows of past events.

Registration open for Holy Cross spring volleyball
    The spring coed volleyball program at Holy Cross is accepting registrations for the 2009 season.
    The program is open to third graders through high school, and participants need not be members of the Holy Cross Parish.
    Evaluations will be held in the Holy Cross gym at 6 p.m. Monday, March 9 for third-through eighth-graders, and 7:30 p.m. for ninth- through 12th-graders. Walk-up registrations will be accepted up to a half an hour before evaluations, and practices will begin the following week.
    The registration fee is $50 per child, $25 for each additional child. All practices and matches will be in the Holy Cross gym.

Rider Run for Fitness accepting registrations
    The Caesar Rodney AFJROTC Rider Run for Fitness has opened its early registration period for the event that will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Caesar Rodney High School.
    The early registration deadline is Monday, March 30, and final registration deadline will be Thursday, April 30.

    The Downstate Delaware Striders & Riders will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in front of Some Guy’s Bagels, 136 Greentree Drive, Dover.
