Brooke Cynthia Davis, 17, of Magnolia, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008.
Friends of the late Brooke Cynthia Davis, 17, of Magnolia, may call on the family at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford, where services will be held at noon.
Brooke died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008.
Born Oct. 17, 1991, in Dover, she was the daughter of Edward J. Davis, now of Magnolia, and Jody Jensen Vasey, now of Lincoln.
She was a junior at Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, where she enjoyed athletics participating as a member of the field hockey team on the front line and running track and field, competing in the 400 yard and 800 meter relay.
In addition to being a full time student, Brooke was an active member of the Kent County 4-H and the Houston Cardinal 4-H Club, where she was involved in cooking and sewing. She earned many 4-H awards and was recognized for her outstanding community service. She looked forward to entering some of her projects each year in the exhibits at the Delaware State Fair.
She also worked part time at the LaFontana Italian Restaurant in Magnolia.
Brooke was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford and taught Sunday school classes. She enjoyed days at the beach, painting, cooking, sewing, crafts, running, field hockey and shopping but above everything, she loved playing with her young siblings.
She dreamed of teaching young children and having a large family.
In addition to her parents, Brooke is survived by her stepfather, Dean Vasey of Lincoln; a brother, Reece A. Davis of Magnolia; and three sisters, Spring M. Vasey, Lake E. Vasey and Rain A. Vasey, all of Lincoln.
She also is survived by her paternal grandfather, Richard J. Davis and his wife, Linda J. of Frederica; her paternal grandmother, Evelyn McGhee and her husband, Mark of Felton; her maternal grandfather, James F. Jensen and his companion, Silvia Jones of Camden; her maternal grandmother, Sandy Reynolds and her husband, Ted of Frederica; her step-grandparents, Dan and Kathy Vasey of Greenwood; her maternal great grandfather, Lloyd P. Hopkins of Preston, Md.; her paternal great grandmother, Jane R. Davis of Syracuse, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Interment will be in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, near Frederica.
Arrangements were by the Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Brooke’s name may be made to the Kent County 4-H, 69 Transportation Circle, Dover, DE 19901.
