Don’t have plans for New Year’s Eve yet? Don’t worry, the Biggs Museum has you covered. The museum is throwing open its doors for the second year in a row for a very Biggs bash.

Last year was the first time the museum hosted a New Year’s Eve shindig, and guests apparently had a blast because they’ve been asking about an encore ever since.

“I think we had such a great turnout last year that obviously people had asked about it and we wanted to bring it back,” said Jennifer Kemske, marketing and community relations coordinator.

The museum’s recent renovations will allow for more guests, and more room to party in its recently revealed Grand Gallery.

“With the new gallery space we have, what better time to do it?” Kemske said.

Reservations are due by Thursday, Dec. 29.

Abbott’s Grill in Milford will be catering the swanky affair. Guests can ring in the New Year with complimentary wine, beer and champagne cocktails, and when they get bored hit the dance floor where DJ Mike Warren reigns over the sound system.

Celebrating New Year’s Eve in an art museum has its perks, such as an über-creative staff. To up the festive atmosphere, the museum is constructing a custom orb for the ceremonial ball drop at midnight.

The Biggs Museum recently kicked off phase two, the public phase, of its capital campaign. The Biggs Bash is a way to contribute to the museum’s renovations while ringing in 2012.
