Diamond State all-conference teams boast a plethora of Ravens

The following Saint Thomas More Preparatory School student athletes were named to the Diamond State All-Conference teams in their respective sports:

    Volleyball: Megan Mahoney, first team; Tina Hillman, second team; and Grace Coury, honorable mention.

    Field hockey first-team: Morgan Hudson, senior, forward; Sam Smiertka, senior, midfield; and Amanda Hudson, senior, goalkeeper.

    Field hockey second-team: Meggan Apgar, senior, forward; Katie Price, sophomore, midfield; and Madison Kruer, senior, fullback.

    Field Hockey honorable mention: Meghan McGloin, sophomore; and Emily Darling, junior.

    Soccer first-team: Giiehti Christian, senior, attack; Joe Zarraga, junior, defense; and Mike Carroll, senior, midfield.

    Soccer second-team: Sean McCalister, senior, defense.

    Soccer honorable mention: Aric Charowsky, senior; and Derrick Tetzner, senior.

    Other conference honors bestowed upon the Ravens were coach of the year honors to Debbie Windett in field hockey, and the sportsmanship award in soccer.

Rider XC boys get good showing on all-conference list

    The following student athletes were named to the Henlopen All-Conference cross country team:

    Boys first team: Eric Line, senior, Caesar Rodney; Marshall Hawkins, senior, Caesar Rodney; Aristotle Johnson, senior, Dover; and Jonathan Abbott, junior, Caesar Rodney.

    Boys second team: Brandon Barnes, sophomore, Dover; and Jack Stang, senior, Polytech.

    Boys honorable mention: Jimmy Simons, sophomore, Caesar Rodney; Andrew Bobola, senior, Lake Forest; and Ronald Cosme, junior, Dover.

    Girls first team: Leeann Seiwell, senior, Caesar Rodney; and Brittany Bullock, sophomore, Lake Forest.

    Girls second team: Ashley Robinson, sophomore, Dover.

    Girls honorable mention: Erin Frick, junior, Caesar Rodney; Violet Kiesel, senior, Lake Forest; Meghan Harris, junior, Caesar Rodney; Rachel Cheney, sophomore, Lake Forest; Alexa Andaya, freshman, Caesar Rodney; and Alyssa Lanagan, senior, Polytech.

    Caesar Rodney boys head coach Mike Tucci was named coach of the year in his first season as head coach.

Burris, Rubacky lead way in all-conference selections

    The following student athletes were named to the Henlopen North All-Conference field hockey team:

    First team – offense: Tristin Burris, senior, Polytech; and Melissa Rubacky, senior, Dover.

    First team – midfield: Samantha Weiss, senior, Dover; Emily Klinkenborg, senior, Polytech; and Corrie Kiger, junior, Caesar Rodney.

    First team – defense: Makia Sturgis, junior, Dover; and Megan Bilbrough, senior, Caesar Rodney.

    Second team – offense: Emily Litchford, junior, Dover; and Kelsey Russell, senior, Polytech.

    Second team – midfield: Christi Griffith, senior, Polytech; Rachel Joyner, junior, Caesar Rodney; and Kelsey Brennan, senior, Dover.

    Second team- defense: Giovanna Genoese, junior, Dover; and Rachel Hamner, sophomore, Polytech.

    Second team – goalkeeper: Jessica Zebley, junior, Dover.

    Honorable mention: Kalin Carfora, junior, Caesar Rodney; Priscilla Lezcano, junior, Dover; and Carleigh Chasanov, freshman, Polytech.

    The following student athletes were named to the Henlopen South All-Conference Field Hockey team:

    First team – midfield: Lauren Saxton, senior, Lake Forest.

    First team – defense: Brooke Gannon, sophomore, Lake Forest.

    Second team – midfield: Emily Voshell, junior, Lake Forest.

    Second team – defense: Shelby Smith, senior, Lake Forest.

    Second team – goalkeeper: Chelsea Warren, senior, Lake Forest.

    Honorable mention: Liz Baker, junior, Lake Forest.
