Cardio class to be held at Pitts Center
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering an Interval Cardio Class from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, Dec. 7 to Dec. 30, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
The class combines kicks, punches, steps and weights to speed up the body’s metabolism and burn fat, as well as create a total-body workout.
The activity fee is $25, and participants should bring a mat and hand weights.

Turkey Run held at Wild Quail
The Turkey Run 5K walk/run to benefit the CDSA U9 Shock Waves was held Nov. 26 at Wild Quail Country Club, Wyoming.

The S.L.T. Fishing Club will hold a turkey shoot at noon Sunday, Dec. 6, at 1111 Crystal Road, Hartly.
Winners will receive meat as well as cash prizes. Hot lunch will be available.

Blue team wins alumni game
The Dover High School alumni soccer game was held Nov. 25 at Dover High Stadium, with the blue team defeating the white team, 4-2.
Bill Peppard, 1995, led the way for the blue team with a goal and two assists. He was supported by Odun Balogun, 2003, Mike Merrit, 2002, and Tommy Solarino, 2009, who scored the other goals, and Dan Simmons, 1993, and Kyle Wheatley, 2003, who had an assist each.
The class of 2004 connection of Josh Tucker and Greg Witham accounted for both white team goals, with Tucker scoring twice and Witham picking up the assists on each goal.

Volleyball players earn region honors
Four members of the Delaware Technical and Community College Terry Campus’ women’s volleyball team were named to the 2009 National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region XIX D-II Women’s Volleyball Team.
All four athletes are freshman and will be returning next year to the Lady Hawks. Local Dover High School graduates Sarah Eberly and Leslie Siegel received the honor, as well as Dover residents Shannon Green and Tiffany Parry.
Eberly, Green and Parry all earned top-50 spots in NJCAA D-II statistics, including hitting efficiency, aces per set, digs per set, blocks and kills. Eberly graced the top ten for kills (No. 3), digs per set (No. 5) and aces per set (No. 8). Siegel was named the All-Region Defensive Specialist for her consistent defensive work.
The inaugural Lady Hawks team had a standout year including earning the NJCAA Region XIX Championship title, hosting a district tournament in a bid to play at nationals and posting a 15-1 regular season record.
