DelDOT has established several traffic and parking precautions to ensure that race fans have a safe trip to the stadium for the triple header beginning Friday, Sept. 30.
On Sunday, Oct. 2, the Dover International Speedway's main entrance will be closed to southbound traffic when stadium parking is filled. Once the race is finished, Leipsic Road will be closed to through traffic to allow immediate exit onto Route 13. On Saturday and Sunday there will be designated routes for cars to follow.
DelDOT is also offering a park and ride service from two locations on Sunday. Buses will be available to take fans from the Christiana Mall to the speedway for $12 round trip. Seating is limited to the first 800 people. Another bus service will bring fans from the Blue Hen Corporate Center, 655 South Bay Road. Service for both routes begins at 8 a.m.
The Smyrna Rest Area, 10 miles north of the speeyway, is open 24 hours and provides a place for fans with RVs to stay. The rest area is located off exit 119.
