The Dover High boys basketball team extended its win streak to three games last week with a victory over Smyrna, 66-51, Jan. 29. Corey Crawford had a huge game, scoring 24 points for the Senators, who next play at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Sussex Central High School.

Girls Basketball

: 9-3, 6-2
The Dover High girls basketball team had a busy week, first beating Elkton Christian, 77-56, Jan. 26, then losing to Smyrna, 66-44, Jan. 27, and finally getting a victory over Archmere, 70-47, Jan. 30. Jazmine Legree had 23 points against Elkton, followed closely by Antoinette Robertson with 22. The Senators’ next game is at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, vs. Sussex Central High School.

The Dover High wrestling team lost its only dual meet last week to Laurel, 42-30, Jan. 27, despite getting pins from Nicholas Bryant, 130, Tyere Joyner, 140, and Brandon Arrington, 145. The Senators hope to put their three-match losing skid to a stop when they host Sussex Tech High School at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Boys Swimming

The Dover High boys swimming team lost its second straight meet last week to Cape Henlopen, 89-80, Jan. 28. Dan Valenti led the Senators in the loss by winning the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly events. Dover will try to get back in the win column when it hosts Sussex Tech High School at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5.

The Caesar Rodney High boys basketball team won two games last week against Milford, 71-62, Jan. 25, and Tatnall, 53-33, Jan. 29. Dominique Gibson led his team in scoring in both wins, with 20 and 18 points respectively. The Riders will face rival Dover High School on the road for their next game at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The Caesar Rodney High girls basketball team started its week with a loss to St. Marks, 47-36, Jan. 26, but rebounded by beating Milford, 61-45, Jan. 29. In the win, Khadijah Carter scored 15 points for the Riders, who next play at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Padua Academy.

The Lake Forest High boys basketball team split a pair of games last week, losing to Milford, 75-61, Jan. 26, but then beating Saint Thomas More, 58-31, Jan. 28. Dondrae Harris scored 12 points in the win for the Spartans, who return to action at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, vs. Laurel High School.

The Polytech High wrestling team lost meets last week to Milford, 36-21, Jan. 25, and Caesar Rodney, 43-21, Jan. 27. The Panthers will try to pick up a win when they visit Laurel High School at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3.

The Saint Thomas More boys basketball team lost two more games last week to Wilmington Christian, 45-44, Jan. 25, and Lake Forest, 58-31, Jan. 28. Will Hayes and Eric Spangler each scored 13 points in the loss to Wilmington Christian. The Ravens will host St. Andrews School at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.

The Saint Thomas More girls basketball team won two games last week by beating Wilmington Christian, 44-36, Jan. 25, and Lake Forest, 51-44, Jan. 28. The Ravens start a three-game road trip with their next game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Tower Hill School.

The Saint Thomas More wrestling team opened last week with a loss to Delmar, 60-10, Jan. 26, but came back in its next dual to beat Glasgow, 39-11, Jan. 28. The Ravens then went on to wrestle at the Tower Hill Tournament Jan. 29, where wrestlers Tyler Mays, 130, Jesse Hawk, 140, and Joshua Meister, 160, all came in first place. STM returns to the mat at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, vs. St. Andrews School.

Campus Community High School
Boys Basketball

The Campus Community High boys basketball team started its week with a loss to Delaware Military Academy, 56-51, Jan. 27, but then beat Saints Peter and Paul, 54-48, Jan. 29. Kishai Sylvester led his team in the win with 15 points. The Cougars will visit Archmere Academy for their next game at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5.

The Campus Community High girls basketball team lost another game this past week, this time to Delaware Military Academy, 47-11, Jan. 27. The Cougars return to action at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Moyer Academy.
