Westhoff, Perry earn top spots at tri-meet

Brecknock Park played host this past week to a middle school cross-country tri-meet that saw W.T. Chipman and two of its runners walk away with top honors.

Chipman faced off against Fred Fifer III and Seaford middle schools at the Oct. 28 meet, where its boys posted a score of 25 points and the girls placed with 23 points.

The Fifer boys had 26 points, while its girls had 39; and the boys from Seaford finished with 50 points, the same total its girls team.

Robbie Westhoff, 13:09, and Kailey Perry, 13:06, both 13-year old seventh-graders at Chipman, finished in first place to propel their teams to wins.

Westhoff was followed by Quintin Ivy, 14:28, and Jordan Thrash, 14:28, both of Fifer, for second and third place.

Chipman girls Kelsey Cabrerra, 13:36, and Taylor Rosser, 14:43, came in behind Perry to round out the top three.

The Chipman cross-country team will travel to Postlethwait Middle School for its next meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
