Monday afternoon, DSU’s Vanessa Ciocatto (8-5) was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week, along with Savannah State’s Amanda McDowell (12-5), for the first time in her career.Making three appearances including two starts, the freshman out of La Habra, Calif. went 1-1 with a 0.49 ERA and six strikeouts, in addition to eight hits, one earned run and three walks surrendered.
