After starting the season off 3-0, Caesar Rodney suffered their first loss of the year Wednesday night against St. Elizabeth, 67-58.

The Lady Riders got off to a sluggish start Wednesday night, trailing the Lady Vikings by seven points after just one quarter.

Down by nine at halftime, CR cut into the St. Elizabeth lead in the third, trailing by just six heading into the fourth quarter where St. E’s would outscore the Lady Riders 17-14 to come away with the nine-point victory.

Ber’Nyah Ward-Mayo led the way for St. Elizabeth scoring a game-high 41 points, more than half the Lady Vikings output.

Meanwhile, three Lady Riders finished in double-figures Wednesday night - Kylie Kornegay-Lucas finished with a team-high 20 points, followed by Alexis Reid with 16 points and Lillian Ayers finishing with 10 points.

CR looks to get back in the win column this Friday night when they travel to take on Cape Henlopen at 6:15 p.m.
