UPDATE: The Senators advance to play Sussex Tech in the state semifinals Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the DE Turf Complex near Frederica. The semifinals were first scheduled for the University of Delaware, but since all four teams are from Kent and Sussex counties, the venue has been changed.

The Dover High School field hockey team defeated Concord 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Division I state tournament Thursday at Dover High.

The Senators were seeded fourth in the eight-team tournament, while Concord was seeded fifth.

Taylor Hutchins scored first for the Senators on an assist from Aimee Petit de Mange at the 21:07 mark in the first half.

In the second half, Chelsea Johnson scored for Dover on assist from Jacarra Jackson at the 27:36 mark, and the Senators went on to win.

Dover outshot Concord 6-1, while Concord held a 5-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Petit de Mange made a defensive save for the Senators.


Now the Senators advance to the semifinals to play eighth-seeded Sussex Tech which upset top-seeded Padua 1-0 in the quarterfinals.

The semifinals will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the DE Turf Complex near Frederica at 5:30 p.m.
