The Dover Senators broke out to a 28-0 halftime lead Friday night on their way to a 42-7 win over Polytech and just their second win of the season.
Dover improves to 2-6 overall and 1-3 against the Henlopen Conference.
Javon Peace led the way for the Senators with four total touchdowns on the night including score on the game’s opening kickoff. Peace also added four rushing touchdowns to help pace the Dover offense.
The Senator defense was opportunistic against the Panthers, picking off quarterback Vincent Tascione four times. Raeshawn Alexander had two interceptions for Dover, while Nadeem Boggerty and Jalen Hill had an interception apiece in the win.
The Panthers’ lone score came on a touchdown pass from Tascione to Tucker Reed.
Polytech falls to 5-3 overall on the year and 2-2 against the conference. They look to bounce back next Friday night when they host Sussex Tech at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Senators hope to make it two wins in a row next Friday night traveling to Cape Henlopen to take on the Vikings, also at 7 p.m.
