The Fox Post 2 baseball team went 3-1 in four games this past week to improve to 7-3 on the season. While the offensive numbers in the wins were high, it has been the team's starting rotation of pitchers that has been the backbone of the team this season.

Two students at Dover Air Base Middle School recently set district records in track and field, when seventh-grader Austinio Brown, 13, ran the 100-meter in 11.9 seconds and eighth-grader Jazmine Lee, 14, posted a time of one minute and four seconds in the 400-meter.

The Central Delaware Soccer Association Power U17 girls soccer team has advanced to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Championships after recently winning the U.S. Youth Soccer Delaware State Championship. The team is without its starting keeper, but with strong defense, the players and coaches think the Power can prevail.

The Fox Post 2 team in the American Legion Baseball League played three games this past week, losing two and leaving the third uncompleted due to poor weather conditions. With the losses, the team now stands at 3-2 on the season.

Former Wesley College football player Larry Beavers was recently signed by the Carolina Panthers of the NFL. Though he is competing for a wide receiver position on the team, Beavers' tremendous speed may earn him a spot in a special teams role returning kicks and punts.

Caesar Rodney High School junior Erik Hoffstadt was selected to play for Mid-Atlantic Region team for the 2009 Adidas National Lacrosse Classic. The tournament brings together 20 regional teams made up of the top 500 high school underclassmen lax players in the country to compete for the 2009 USA Championship.

Zach Carter, a key figure in the Dover baseball world, was inducted into the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame June 9, at Sports at the Beach in Georgetown. Carter has been involved in Delaware baseball since the 1960s as a player, coach and contributor.
