Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate an early-morning crash Monday, Feb. 20 along U.S. 13 in Woodside in which a Harrington woman was killed.
According to police, Judith D. Candalino, 57, died at about 1 a.m. Monday when her 1994 Pontiac Sunbird, was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Marlena Korona, 33, of Felton. Candalino’s vehicle was either traveling very slowly or stopped in the right lane of southbound U.S. 13 when the crash occurred, police said. The force of the impact propelled Candalino’s car more than 130 feet before coming to rest in the roadway. Candalino was pronounced dead at the scene.
Korona's vehicle went into a ditch and overturned. She and a 5-year-old passenger in her SUV were both taken to Kent General Hospital, treated for minor injuries and released.
