    • Girl Scout cookies arrive in Dover

    • Girl Scout cookie season has begun, and favorites like Samoas and Thin Mints are one step closer to being in the hands of those who ordered from a Scout. A truckload of cookies was unloaded at the Elks Lodge in Dover on Monday. Troop leaders and volunteers unloaded, stacked and organized 1,484 cases of cookies so that troops could pick up their orders. The scene looked more like a factory than a fundraiser pick-up; by the time all of the cases were unloaded, a total of 17,808 boxes of Girl Scout cookies were laid out across the dining room of the Elks Lodge Monday afternoon.
