    • From record-setting attendance numbers to an all-time high in games featured, the Unpub 4 gaming convention at St. Thomas More Academy on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18 outshined its previous events in nearly every aspect possible. Unpub 4, a convention that specializes in showcasing unpublished board and card games to the public, displayed a record 100-plus games on Saturday and Sunday, with more than 300 guests in attendance, attracting guests from throughout the country as far north as Canada. Some of the unique games of note at Unpub 4 included a horse-betting board game called “Post Position” and “Phobos,” a board game in which players assume the role of alien factions that compete to gain control of the mineral caverns on Mars’ moon. Unpub 4 coordinator Darrell Louder, of Dover, announced seven games were picked up by publishers over the weekend, and more are expected to get published in the coming weeks. This also is a record-setting number of games published during an Unpub event. The seven published games were “Shigami” (published by Game Solute), “So, Monsters Attack” (Game Salute), “Goblin Brigade” (Game Salute), “New Bedford” (Dice Hate Me Games), “Don’t Get Eated” (Dice Hate Me Games), “Sunrise Shuffle” (Crash Games) and “Dead Drop” (Crash Games).
