Funeral services for the late Emily Adeline Indermuehle Radtke, 91, of Dover, will be held Wednesday, June 24, at the Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton, Wis.
Mrs. Radtke died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Born July 15, 1918, in Clyman Township, near Juneau, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Christian H. and Adeline Kluth Indermuehle.
Mrs. Radtke moved to Appleton as a child, and lived there for more than 55 years. She graduated from the St. Paul Lutheran School and from Appleton High School, and worked at Kimberly Clark in Neenah, Wis., for 40 years until her retirement in 1983. For many of those years, she worked in the public relations department.
Over the years, she was very active in the Valparaiso University Guild, and in the St. Paul Lutheran Church PTA, Ladies Aid Society, and the church choir. She was a long-time member of the National Secretaries Association. Her large extended family was her greatest delight.
Mrs. Radtke married 2nd Lt. Roger K. Behl of Appleton in 1944; he was killed in action over France the same year. They had one daughter, Ellen.
In 1983, she married a long-time friend, Ruben H. Schulz; the newlyweds were some of the original residents of The Heritage in Appleton. He preceded her in death in 1991. In 1992, she married Edward A. Radtke, and they continued to live at The Heritage until he died in 2004.
Soon after, she moved to Dover to be near her daughter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Radtke was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Indermuehle.
Mrs. Radtke is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Stan Trier of Dover; three grandsons and the wives of two, Stephen and Lyn of Highland Heights, Ohio, Derek of Dover, and Nathan and Jennifer Guarino of New Haven, Conn.; and two great-grandchildren, Margaret Guarino-Trier of New Haven and Grant Trier of Highland Heights.
Also surviving are three beloved stepdaughters and the husbands of two, Sandra and Claude Radtke and Peg Schulz, all of Appleton, and Joanne and Don Dardis of Montgomery, Ill.; a stepson and his wife, Charles and Pat Radtke; two step grandsons and their wives, Scott and Sara Radtke and Michael and Jennifer Radtke and their children; and two step granddaughters and a significant other, Michelle Dardis and Conrad Rogers, and Christina Dardis.
In addition, Mrs. Radtke is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Christian C. and Anita Indermuehle of Greenfield, Wis.; her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Earl Ehlke of Grafton, Wis.; and her sister-in-law, Jeannine Indermuehle of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Funeral arrangements were by the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton.
