A gathering for friends of Louella Bensinger Hawley, 89, of Dover, will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Hawley died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at home.
Born Aug. 22, 1918, in Santa Monica, Calif., Mrs. Hawley was the daughter of the late Joseph Bensinger and Sadie Stoocky Bensinger.
She had worked as a bookkeeper and enjoyed her later years as a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watercolor painting, knitting and reading.
Mrs. Hawley was a member of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Allgor.
Mrs. Hawley is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David H. and Sharon Allgor and Stanley J. Allgor and his fiancée, Eileen Ormond of Hull, Mass.; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Golden Gate Memorial Cemetery, San Bruno, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Hawley’s name may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
