Anna Maude Register, 86, of Camden, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at home.
Born Sept. 30, 1921, in Milford, Mrs. Register was the daughter of the late William Truitt and Sara Sharp Truitt.
She worked as a clerk for Pierce’s Pharmacy and also was a Realtor for Spence Reality. She enjoyed her later years as a housewife and mother.
Mrs. Register’s hobbies included antiquing, going to auctions and doing needlepoint. She did volunteer work with Bayhealth for many years, was an AAA mentor and also helped with church dinners at St Paul’s many years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Caleb Jackson Register; and a son, Gary J. Register.
Mrs. Register is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon L. and Merle Thomas; a son, Kevin L. Register and his companion, Kathleen Forsman of Hartly; and her grandchildren, Brent A. Thomas and his wife, Sacha of Birmingham, Ala., Shane R. Thomas and his wife, Connie of Newport News, Va., Alyssa Forsman, and Dylon J. Register and Phobe A. Register, children of Rhonda F. Register.
She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Hailey R. Thomas, Jackson Reece Thomas and Chase Allan Thomas; two nieces, Judith B. Spence and Sally J. Rigby; a nephew, Arthur V. Register; and her caretakers, best friends and mentors, Stella McGinnis, Debbie Howard and Barbara Campbell.
Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
