Friends of the late Walker “Hickey” Luff, 85, may call on the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 6, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7.
Mr. Luff died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in the Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover.
Born Jan. 21, 1924, in Dover, he was the son of the late Harvey Luff and Anna Glanding Luff.
Mr. Luff was an independent truck owner/operator many years until his retirement at the age of 70 due to illness.
He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, heavyweight wrestling and was a NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon. He also loved a chew of tobacco.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marianna Gourley Luff; a son, Donald J. Luff; his brothers, Albert, Jack and Bill; and four sisters, Flossie, Dorothy, Anna and Edith.
Mr. Luff is survived by four three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Luff of Marydel, Greg Luff of Milton, and Jeff and Tina Luff of Marydel; a daughter, Donna “Fay” Dolan of Dover; a sister, Frances “Minny” Downs of Dover; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
