Friends of the late Douglas A. Bethel, 66, of Wyoming, may call on the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover.
Mr. Bethel died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at his home.
Born Feb. 4, 1943, in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of the late Redverse and Evelyn Bethel.
After serving in the United States Air Force from 1964 until 1968, Mr. Bethel worked as a technician for the Xerox company for 21 years.
He loved to spend time with his family and also had interests in automobiles and electronics.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Bethel, in 1973.
Mr. Bethel is survived by two sons, Stephen Bethel of Chestertown, Md., and Matthew D. Bethel of Felton; two grandchildren, Gavin Steele Bethel of Chestertown, and Jessica Brooke Kersey of Jackson, Miss.; his sister, Marilyn Lonergan of West Chester, N.Y.; and a brother, Thomas G.N. Bethel of New Hampshire.
