Colleen K. Fuller, 94, of Dover, died following a brief illness Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Born March 31, 1914, in Scales Mound, Ill., Mrs. Fuller was the daughter of the late Fred Kilbreth and Etta Clark Kilbreth.
She grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, and was a 1936 graduate of the University of Iowa. After graduation, she taught school in Illinois and Iowa for several years.
Mrs. Fuller lived most of her adult life in Lockport, N.Y., where she was a homemaker and was involved in many organizations, including College Women’s Club, American Association of University Women, New Century Club, Niagara County Historical Society, Salvation Army, Literacy Volunteers, Board of Trustees for the Senior Citizens Center, Beta Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and in several local charities.
She was an active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, holding numerous offices in the United Methodist Women’s Association. In 1986, she was honored as one of nine local women for their contributions to the field of humanities by the International Women’s Decade Coalition II.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Kenneth A. Fuller; and by her sister, Blanche Kilbreth.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Fuller Jacobs of Dover, with whom she had lived for the last 10 years, and Colleen Susan and Dennis M. O’Regan of Wyomissing, Pa.
Mrs. Fuller also is survived by her grandchildren, Julie Fuller Kasten and her husband, Nathan Kasten of Dover, Kathyryn Ann O’Regan of Jackson Hole, Wy., Kenneth Dermott O’Regan of Wyomissing; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Colleen Kasten of Dover.
Interment was private.
Arrangements were by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
