Friends of the late Victoria M. De Blasi, 86, of Dover, may call on the family beginning at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover.
Mrs. De Blasi died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she worked as a stenographer with the Hartford Insurance Company until her 1988 retirement. She had lived in Edgewood, Md., before moving to the Dover area in 2004.
Mrs. De Blasi was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Cross and had a passion for cooking, baking and candy making. In her quieter moments she enjoyed reading and the company of her family. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. De Blasi, who died in 2004.
Mrs. De Blasi is survived by her son and dedicated daughter-in-law, Ralph and Christa De Blasi of Hartly; two granddaughters, Angela Marie Koslowski and her husband, John of Conowingo, Md., and Tamara J. Tranthum and her husband, William of Dover; and her best friend, Judy Kawaja of Joppa, Md.
A private interment will be held in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
Arrangements are by the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, Dover.
