Friends of the late Corinne N. Dean, 93, of Dover, may call on the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Forest Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4950 Pearsons Corner Road, Dover, where services will be held at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Dean died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Westminster Village, Dover.
Born Aug. 29, 1916, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late W. Thomas Durham and Maymie Beckett Durham.
Mrs. Dean was a teacher for the former city of Wilmington school system for more than 20 years, teaching home economics in several different schools.
Prior to her illness, she thoroughly enjoyed line dancing with the Stepping Seniors, participating with her Red Hatters group, and maintaining family historical records. She was actively involved at the Modern Maturity in Dover, and doing volunteer work, particularly with the Delaware Division of Aging.
Mrs. Dean was an active member of the Forest Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church, Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Dean, on Aug. 7, 1973; two brothers, Warren J. Durham and Donald M. Durham; and three sisters, Dorothy W.D. Carney, Cleo D. Coker and Iona D. Reed.
Mrs. Dean is survived by a brother, Floyd Durham of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Forest Grove cemetery.
