A visitation with the family of Donald G. Jesse, 77, of Dover, will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon Thursday, Aug. 14, in the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover.
Mr. Jesse died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford.
Born in Whitaker, Pa., he was the son of the late Michael Jesse and Ruth Hall Jesse.
Mr. Jesse was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War.
He had lived in Dover since 1957 and was involved with several businesses one of which was the ECO Painting Co. for more than 27 years.
Mr. Jesse was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the years. He was especially fond of music, reading, western history and antiques.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheryl Jesse Outten.
Mr. Jesse is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Forshaw Jesse of Dover; two sons and their wives, Donald G. Jr. and Lolita Lopez Jesse of Middletown and Brian A. and Jan Jenkins Jesse of Dover; and a daughter, Sandra A. Jesse of Dover.
He also is survived by two brothers, Ralph Jesse of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Clay Jesse of Dover; three grandchildren, Justin Jesse, George Hurley and Brandon Jesse; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden Hurley, Bethany Jesse and Colin Hurley.
Interment with military honors will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, west of Dover.
