Friends of the late Sally Jackson, 73, of Felton, formerly of Carbondale, Pa., may call on the family from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, at Chapel 2 on Dover Air Force Base.
Mrs. Jackson died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at home.
She was the daughter of the late John Costantino and Genevieve Dutchman Costantino.
Mrs. Jackson worked for many years as a registered nurse and had served with the Milford Home Health Care Service before her retirement in 2003. She was a faithful member of the Dover Air Force Base Catholic Chapel where she served as a Eucharist minister and was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, which taught religious education to children each Sunday.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who in her quieter moments she had enjoyed arts and crafts, especially ceramics. A cheerful and outgoing person, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Pechusick.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Chester Gordon Jackson Sr.; three daughters, Carol Vadala Soden of Carbondale, Linda Harris of Naugatuck, Conn., and Mary Jo Tolerico of Pennsylvania; and a son, Daniel K. Thompson Jr. of Waterford, Mich.
She also is survived by two stepchildren, Chester Gordon Jackson Jr. of Scranton, Pa. and Elizabeth Rosengrant of Dover; two sisters, Mary Carol Neal of Asheville, N.C. and Jean Laguzzi of Browndale, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at 1 p.m. in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
