OBITUARY: Jean Joyce Weller

Friends of the late Jean Joyce Weller, 84, of Dover, may call on the family at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where services will be held at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Weller died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in the Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover.
Born Feb. 11, 1925, in Henderson, Md., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Dhue Edge.

Mrs. Weller worked for ILC Industries and was proud to have been part of the team that made space suits, some of which went to the moon. In her later years she enjoyed life as a homemaker.

She was a member of the Dover Elks and the Wyoming United Methodist Church. She loved to play card games.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram “Poochie” Weller; a sister, Dorthea Porter; and her brothers Bob, Jackie and Bernard Edge.

Mrs. Weller is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charlie Weller of Dover and Mike and Robin Weller of Wyoming; three grandchildren, Josh, Dustin and Casey; and two great-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Erica.

She also is survived by three brothers, Donald Edge of Bridgeville, Miles Edge of Greensboro, Md., and Joe Edge of Henderson; and two sisters, Mary Wiest of Fayettville, N.C. and Della Husfelt of Henderson.

Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Weller’s name may be made to the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover, DE 19904-3308.
