Friends of the late Roland L. “Junior” Jackson, 83, of Milford, may call on the family at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Lofland Funeral Home 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Mr. Jackson died Friday, June 26, 2009, a Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford.
Born in Cambridge, Md., he was the son of the late Roland Jackson and Agnes Lynch Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He later worked as a foreman in both residential and business construction, retiring from Vepco Inc in 1993.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He could fix anything he was given.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Florence B. Jackson, on April 20, 2009; and by a son-in-law, Phillip E. Sharp Sr.
Mr. Jackson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roland L. Jr. and Alice Jackson of Milford; two daughters, Florence G. “Flossie” Sharp and her fiancée, John R. Hudson; and Sandra L. Brooks, all of Milford; five grandchildren, Phillip E. Sharp Jr., Darlene Austin, Rhonda Jester, Ryan Brooks and Kyle Brooks; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annie Lee Greulich and Fannie Mae Wilkins, both of Milford.
Interment will be in the Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
