Sam Comegys February 8th, 1995 – February 15th, 2012.

“Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.”~ Buddha

It’s what between the “-“ that counts.

Sam has an amazing light and spirit that transcends the physical body. His laughter, kind words, sense of humor and eclectic style will live in our hearts and our memories. He was loved by so many and too many to be listed here. Sam collected people, he drew you into his world and loved with all that he had.

Our “family”, is a collection of people that he held dear. Sam’s closest “family” are his parents Gina and Travis Duffin, his brother that he loved more than anything, Alex Wood, “Uncle Steve” Long,  Alex’s father, Trooper Thomas D. Wood, his grandmother Barbara Duffin, his father Roland Comegys II and family in Pennsylvania. Sam will be so missed by his cat Fiona. He loved life, learning and helping others. His dedication to his family was amazing as was his dedication to his friends.  Our love and light go to those that are left behind. My gratitude goes to our friends and family that have been our strength. Thank you to NCCo Paramedics for taking care of your own and to the DSP. I wish I could say thank you to everyone, but on Sam’s behalf I would like to express my love to Aunt Linda, his Uncle Willie, Spence and the FFA and Poly family.

There will be no service.  I feel that by keeping him in your heart and remembering a time that he made you laugh is the proper memorial. I do ask this, if you think someone is at risk get help. Instead of flowers our family would appreciate a donation to the Bowers Beach Fire Department or the Kent County S.P.C.A.
