Friends of the late Thomas Joseph Martin, 59, of Harrington, may attend memorial services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford.
Mr. Martin died peacefully and in God’s grace Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.
Born March 9, 1950, in Everett, Mass., he was the youngest son of Joseph Francis Martin and Helen Patricia McCarthy Martin.
Mr. Martin was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
He went on to receive an associate’s degree from Delaware Technical & Community College in diesel engine mechanics. He then practiced his trade with competence, hard work, and his much-loved sarcastic brand of humor. He was employed as shop foreman at Barr International Inc. of Federalsburg and Delmar, Md.
Mr. Martin married in 1973, and he and his then-wife brought two beloved daughters into the world, Amelia Shannon Martin, 26, presently of Seattle, Wash., and Veronica Sue Martin, 25, presently of Juneau, Alaska. He was very proud of his daughters; they loved him dearly and will miss him always.
Mr. Martin also is survived by two brothers, their wives and their families, Bruce and Eleanor Martin of Massachusetts and Edward and Joan Martin of Pennsylvania; a sister, her husband and their children, Patricia and Richard Fowler of Florida; and by the families of his daughters in Delaware.
