Friends of the late Anna Louise Moore, 92, of Dover, may call on the family at noon Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the People’s United Church of Christ, 46 S. Bradford St., Dover, where remembrance services will be held at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Moore died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at home.
Born Sept. 11, 1917, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Boyd Masten.
Mrs. Moore was a homemaker. With her husband, she raised their five children on the family farm that is now Moore’s Meadows.
She was a member of the People's United Church of Christ for 50 years, as well as a member of the Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau and strong supporter of Kent County 4-H.
Mrs. Moore always will be remembered for her kind heart and the love she gave to the family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph P. Moore, in 1998; a sister; two brothers; a daughter, Mary Anna Johnson, in 2002; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Moore is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Kenneth and Josie Moore of Dover; a son-in-law, Dickie Johnson of Dover; and three daughters and two sons-in-law, Josie Strong and her friend, Dick Yerger, of Dover, Connie and Louis Starkey of Felton and Debbie and Rusty Jack of Frederica.
She also is survived by 11 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a loving and dedicated caregiver, Betty Starkey of Felton.
Interment will be in the Garden of the Word in the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, west of Dover.
