OBITUARY: Pauline J. Monismith

Friends of the late Pauline J. Monismith, 86, of Dover, may call on the family at noon Friday, Feb. 5, at the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where services will be held at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Monismith died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Born Nov. 17, 1923, in Viola, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Elsie Blood Jarrell.

Mrs. Monismith worked as a secretary for the state of Delaware for several years before retirement.

She was a member of the Cheswold United Methodist Church.

Her favorite hobby was gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester G. Monismith; two brothers, William B. and Ralph L. Jarrell; and three sisters, Gertrude Frasher, Sally Reed and Emma Gooden.

Mrs. Monismith is survived by her son, Edward L. Monismith, with whom she lived; two brothers, Harry A. Jarrell of Venice, Fla., and Winvert J. Jarrell of Lewes; and a sister, Mary Ann Lambertson of Dover.

Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery Camden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Monismith’s name may be made to the Cheswold United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 191, Cheswold, DE 19936.

Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Smyrna.
