A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the late Jane B. Moore, 83, of Dover, at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Port Chester, N.Y.

Mrs. Moore died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at the Silver Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dover, surrounded by her family.

Born June 10, 1926, in Mamaroneck, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John Blair and Henrietta Coleman Blair.

Mrs. Moore was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed nature. She was known for her great cooking, and assisted her late husband with his hot dog vending and catering businesses.

Her main concern throughout her lifetime was making sure her family’s needs were fulfilled. She was a founding member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Youth Group in Port Chester, and served that group for 25 years. She was recognized for her service to the church at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John J. Moore Sr. in 1997; her brother, John; and two sisters, Evelyn and Cathleen.

Mrs. Moore is survived by a son, John J. Moore of Greenwich, Conn.; and three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia Moore and her companion, Lorraine Kearny of White Plains, N.Y., Sharon and Manny Velasquez of Dover, and Ellen and Bruno Luongo of Danbury, Conn.

She also is survived by four grandchildren, Theresa Voss and her husband Henry, Anthony Diodato and his wife Tykisha, Natalie Luongo and Johnny Luongo; six great-grandchildren, Devin Livingston, Heaven and Hope Voss, Angelo Cox-Diodato, Jayden Diodato, and Dana Luongo; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Eddie Crew; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye, N.Y.

Local arrangements are by Torbert Funeral Chapels, Dover.
