Ferris Road at the southbound Route 141 ramp will be closed effective Monday, Nov. 9 for reconstruction that is expected to take a month.
This project should take 30 days to complete, pending weather, according to the Department of Transportation. Local residents and emergency vehicles will have access.
The Route 141 project is designed to improve safety, relieve congestion, improve and add pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and enhance the area’s aesthetics. Greggo & Ferrara, Inc., began construction in fall 2007 and will continue through 2010.
Detour Route: Route 141 southbound to Exit 5 and travel northbound on Newport Gap Pike. Motorists can either turn right onto Old Capitol Trail to pick up Centerville Road or continue northbound along Newport Gap Pike to pick up Kirkwood Highway.
