A Rodney Village man arrested for drug possession by Dover Police was turned over to Delaware State Police for resolution of outstanding robbery charges.

The case began at 1:53 p.m. Nov. 19 on Governors Avenue, said Dover Police spokesman Lt. Paul Bernat, when the man, identified as Joshua Pulliam, 23, of the 1400 block of John Clark Road, was stopped for walking with an open container of alcohol. At first, Pulliam gave the officer a false name, then fled through a back yard, damaging a fence in the process. He was caught following a short struggle by an officer using a Taser device.

Pulliam was in possession of 2.2 grams of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, Bernat said. A computer check showed Delaware State Police Troop 3 wanted him on charges of robbery, assault and possession of a deadly weapon, Bernat added.

Dover Police leveled charges of possession of crack cocaine within 300 feet of a church, possession of crack cocaine within 500 feet of a school, criminal impersonation, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and trespassing.

Bond information was not available.
