Special Olympics Delaware’s annual Night of Heroes will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the University of Delaware’s Clayton Hall.
The formal recognition program will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a reception at 7:30 p.m.
The organization will honor several of its key volunteers, businesses and organizations who have made significant contributions not only in 2009, but for several years.
Ed Capodanno and Joanne Cunningham, both of Wilmington, will be inducted into the Special Olympics Delaware Hall of Fame. The duo has volunteered as year-round coaches in a variety of sports since 1990.
In addition, Chip Thomas , of Media, Pa., will be presented with the President’s Award for his 18 years of service to the organization, most notably as the track and field venue director at Summer Games.
