Dover Police have arrested a local teen after he allegedly tried to break in to an occupied home.
The incident took place at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 17, at a home in the 1400 block of Hancock Avenue, said police spokesman Lt. Steve Getek.
A woman called officers to report someone was trying to force open a rear window at her home, Getek said. The suspect, later identified as D’Andre Chandler of the unit block of Stevenson Drive, fled, but was seen by officers running into Manchester Square. He was taken into custody there, Getek said.
A later investigation showed Chandler had attempted to get into another residence, also on Hancock Avenue, Getek said.
Chandler was charged with two counts each of attempted burglary and criminal trespass, plus a single count of criminal mischief. He was jailed at the William M. Stevenson Detention Center, Milford, in lieu of a $950 secured bond.
