Harrington officers have arrested a local parolee on a number of drug charges.

Lilton L. Stevens III, 33, was arrested after Harrington officers contacted state Probation and Patrol officers to assist in taking Stevens into custody, said police spokesman Cpl. Keith Shyers. After Stevens was arrested, an administrative search of his home on West Liberty Street turned up 5.1 grams of crack cocaine, 6 grams of marijuana and $598 in cash, Shyers said.

Stevens was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for keeping a controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance within a 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a schedule II controlled substance within a 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of marijuana.

He also was found to be wanted out of Kent County Family Court for failing to appear for a hearing on support arrears, Kent County Superior Court for violation of probation, and two times out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for failing to appear on drug charges and failing to pay on drug and traffic charges.

Stevens was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of a cash bond totaling $28,473.
