Two facing cocaine trafficking charges

Harrington Police officers have arrested two men in connection with a drug investigation.

Rashad Smith, 20, of Harrington, and Gary D. Williams, 19, of Greenwood, were arrested Oct. 29 after police from Harrington, Felton and Laurel executed a search warrant, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Cpl. Keith B. Shyers.

Officers seized 17.1 grams of crack cocaine and a .22 caliber Ruger firearm, Shyers said.

Both were charged with trafficking crack cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, maintaining a dwelling, conspiracy and possession of crack cocaine. Smith also was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited.

Smith was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of a $108,000 secured bond; Williams was committed to SCI on a $103,000 secured bond.
