A new traffic signal will be activated on Friday, Nov. 20 at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and Glasgow Drive.

The signal will be activated and the lights for all directions will be in a flash operation for a period of 72 hours, the Delaware Department of Transportation said. Nationally, the flash operation indicates to motorists that a new signal is ahead and serves as a training period before full activation.

After the 72-hour “alert period,” the signal will be converted to full stop-and-go operation on Monday, Nov. 23 after the morning rush hour.

Variable message signs will advise motorists in advance of the new traffic pattern.
