While the majority of us were opening presents and visiting family Christmas Day, many others were on the job throughout Dover and Kent County, maintaining essential services and being ready to help if need be.
Dover Police and Delaware State Police troopers seemed to have a quiet day, making only six arrests compared to 16 on Christmas Eve. Local firefighters had it a bit rougher, answering 15 calls throughout the day, the first involving a car accident at 12:19 a.m., the last to check out an electrical hazard at 11:28 p.m.
We at the Dover Post wanted to present a small tribute to everyone, from convenience store clerks to emergency services personnel, who worked on this most special of holidays.
