The man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend at her General’s Greene townhome Nov. 9 is now facing charges in connection with the crime.

    Damion Neal, 32, listed as homeless but with connections in the Dover area, was arrested in the Baltimore area Nov. 10 where he was held until being extradited to Delaware Nov. 14.

    He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, harassment and criminal mischief; he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Center, Wilmington, without bail.

    Police had been on the lookout for Neal even before the murders because of a domestic dispute between him and the ex-girlfriend, Tonessa Barlow.

    According to court documents at Justice of the Peace Court 2, Neal allegedly kicked open and damaged the front door to Barlow’s home Nov. 9 because she did not return his phone calls. Her current boyfriend, Richard Tollson, and Neal then began fighting in her driveway and court documents state Neal bit him in the face. He fled when Barlow called 911. Police tried to locate him at several locations and even spoke with him on the telephone but they were unable to track him down.

    The couple was in bed in the master bedroom when Neal allegedly entered the home later that night and shot Barlow and Tollson, said Cpl. Jeffrey Whitmarsh, spokesman for the Delaware State Police. An infant child Barlow was babysitting was in a separate room, he said.

    The couple was found by a family friend who went to the home the morning after the shooting and then called police to report the crime.
