Dover —
The Crown Royal Poker Room at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, 1131 N. Dupont Highway has produced another Bad Beat Jackpot, netting a total of $129,572, on a Texas Hold Em table.
The jackpot was divided proportionally among the six players at the table.
One Dover man received a check for $64,786, 50 percent of the jackpot for a hand of aces full of kings. Another player, from Manitowic, Wis., received a check for $32,393 for a high hand of quad kings.
The unconventional, top-prize payout to the player of the second-highest losing hand is what distinguishes the Bad Beat Jackpot from other jackpots. Players who have high hands but have still been beaten receive a consolation prize.
The remaining four players received a payout of $8,098.25, or 25 percent of the total jackpot.
The Dover Downs Hotel and Casino delivered the four largest Bad Beat Jackpot payouts in Delaware and has paid out more than half a million dollars since its inception in 2010.
