The Mid-Del Charitable Foundation awarded financial grants to 33 Delaware organizations at a Dec. 16 event at Harrington Casino.
The Foundation, developed to consolidate the charitable undertakings of Delaware State Fair Inc. and Harrington Raceway Inc., supports Delaware-based organizations and charitable, educational and scientific endeavors that address a wide range of issues, including health and human services, the arts, agriculture, education, and the environment.
Howell F. Wallace, president of the foundation, along with the presiding officers and directors distributed grants to the following organizations: Biggs Museum of American Art, Bridgeville Public Library, Center for Therapeutic and Educational Riding, CHEER, Civil Air Patrol, Clear Space Productions, Delaware 4-H Foundation, Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village, Delaware Ducks Unlimited- Greenwing Event, Delaware Guidance Services, Delaware Hospice, Delaware Nature Society, Delmarva Clergy United in Social Action Foundation, DVFA Foundation, Friends of Harrington Public Library, Greenwood Police Department, Harrington Fire Company, Harrington Police Department, Harrington Parks and Recreation, Harrington Recreation Department, Harrington Senior Center, Harrington Sunshine 4-H Club, Harvest Years Senior Center, Kent Conservation District, Milford Rotary Club, Ministry of Caring, Mom’s House Inc. of Dover, New Coverdale Outreach Mission, Reading ASSIST Institute, Rehoboth Art League, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Santa’s Workshop/”Bookaneers” (Milford School District), Special Olympics of Delaware and Vietnam Veterans of America.
