U.S. Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., will host a health care listening session from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Delaware Technical & Community College, Room 407 A&B, Campus Drive, Dover.

This is an open forum to share positions on the important health care reform debate taking place in the U.S. Congress, Castle said. It is important for him to know opinions on the current quality, affordability and accessibility within the current system and what proposed changes would mean for Delawareans.

There is strong momentum for working together in Washington to improve the quality and cost of our current health care system, Castle said. It is his hope this energy results in a compromise reform plan to lower costs, improve quality and expand access to care for Delawareans in a way that doesn't saddle future generations with debt.

“I am hopeful that Congress can develop a bipartisan package which protects the doctor- patient relationship and drives innovation to prevent illness and develop cures while keeping costs in mind,” Castle said. “This reform effort is a significant undertaking and is always best achieved when all stakeholders have a seat at the table.

“My goal in hosting this forum is to hear from you and bring your accounts back to Washington,” he said.
